Two breeding associations rich in tradition, one shared vision: The Westphalian Studbook and the Trakehner Association will hold their first joint foal auction at the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud in Warendorf on August 26.

For a long time, the Trakehners have been welcome guests at the Westphalian Studbook facilities in Münster-Handorf with events such as the Spring Licensing and the National Tournament. A close partnership is now becoming a joint project. What has grown over many years through trustful cooperation now reaches a further highlight in a joint foal auction.

To kick off the German Federal Championships, the historic riding hall of the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud opens its doors for this special premiere. In a unique atmosphere, the best young prospects from two major German breeding associations will meet an international audience of breeders, athletes, and horse enthusiasts. The Westphalian Studbook already celebrated a successful auction premiere at this tradition-steeped location last year – now this chapter of success is being continued together.

“I am very pleased that we will have the Trakehner Association as a partner for our foal auction at the State Stud this year. By joining forces, we will be able to organize a top-tier event. I am certain that our sellers and buyers will complement each other perfectly, and I look forward to an atmospheric auction full of emotion and exciting bidding duels,” says Thomas Münch, Head of Auction and Marketing at the Westphalian Studbook.

Richard Langels, Head of Auction and Marketing at the Trakehner Association, adds: “Our long-standing, trustful cooperation with the Westphalian Studbook and the successful foal auctions held during the Trakehner National Tournament in Münster-Handorf—which have achieved almost cult status, not least thanks to Thomas Münch at the auctioneer’s rostrum—laid the foundation for this new format. For the Trakehner Association, this is the first joint auction with another breeding association, which is why we are looking forward to this premiere with great anticipation and are convinced that it will inspire many horse enthusiasts.”

Visitors can look forward to an evening full of quality, emotion, and breeding highlights, where the next generation of promising breeding and sport horses will be presented for the first time in this joint setting.
