Foal Auction in Kranichstein – a complete success!

On Saturday evening, September 13, the Trakehners celebrated a brilliant comeback at Hofgut Kranichstein (Darmstadt) with the Elite Foal Auction, held as part of the VII Federal Mare Show. Nine colt foals and three filly foals made up the exquisite collection, which, in addition to dressage pedigrees featuring the debut of celebrated young stallions, also offered a wealth of performance-proven jumping and eventing genes. A large number of the young auction stars had already won champion titles at the Trakehner Foal Championships before entering the ring.

Top quality and a great atmosphere among the audience brought auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp to peak performance: All foals found new owners, with the top price of 27,000 Euros achieved by the colt foal Fliedergold by Eichengold, bred by Karl Skupin, Lübeck, which was sold to Switzerland. Eight foals fetched prices of 10,000 Euros and more. The organizers were also highly satisfied with the average price of 12,688 Euros. “It was a brilliant auction with a fantastic atmosphere,” summarized Neel-Heinrich Schoof, Breeding Director and Managing Director of the Trakehner Association. Richard Langels, who heads the marketing department, added: “The interest in the high-quality foals was very strong. Various regular customers from Germany and abroad were successful with their bids.”

Foal Auction – September 13, 7:30 PM

The Trakehners will not only celebrate their top mares at the traditional Hofgut Kranichstein on the occasion of the VII Trakehner Federal Mare Show, but the next generation of talented Trakehner youngsters will also make their first appearance as part of a Federal Mare Show.

The Trakehner auction team has once again succeeded in compiling an attractive and high-quality foal collection. Interested parties can look forward to powerful movers and genetically valuable offerings for sport and breeding!

On Saturday evening, September 13, these will then find new owners under the direction of auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp in a festive evening atmosphere.

Incidentally, the Trakehners have a decades-long auction history with the historic estate of Hofgut Kranichstein: the legendary Trakehner riding horse auctions took place here between 1959 and 1989. Now, the youngest representatives of these noble horses with East Prussian roots are preparing to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors.
