Neumünster (TV): For the most optimal organization of inspection tours in the individual breeding districts, Trakehner breeders are requested to actively participate and to observe the following points:

  1. Report the birth of your foal within 28 days to the head office in Neumünster and at least one week before the desired inspection date! The foaling notification is best submitted online via the Transparent Studbook or using the foaling notification form by email (abfohlmeldung@trakehner-verband.de), fax (0 43 21 – 90 27 19), or by post. If you are missing a foaling notification form, please contact the head office (0 43 21 – 90 27 16 Mrs. Rosenthal). The dispatch of the inspection forms, the microchips, and the documents for the DNA parentage verification for foals to be registered in 2026 will only take place after the foaling notification has been sent to the head office of the Trakehner Verband. Stillbirths, dead births, or non-pregnancy are also reported to the studbook department in Neumünster.
  2. Breeders expecting three or more foals are requested to contact their breeding district chairpersons immediately, if this has not already been done. The presentation of foals before a commission of the Trakehner Verband is required according to the breeding program.
  3. The dates are published in DER TRAKEHNER under association information as well as on the websites of the breeding districts. Breeders traveling to another location should register with the hosts in good time to enable smooth organization on site. For unpublished dates with fewer than three procedures per inspection location, a fee of EUR 150 for special inspection dates must be paid according to point 6.4 of the fee schedule, as well as any travel expenses (according to 7.2 of the fee schedule).
  4. The inspection forms sent by post must be brought to the registration along with the dam’s horse passport. Without presentation at the inspection, identification and registration of your foal is not possible!

In addition, the foals must be microchipped. This can be done by qualified representatives of the Trakehner Verband at the foal registration appointment or by the breeder’s veterinarian. The foals must be halter-trained for this purpose. Attention: Only the microchips provided by the Trakehner Verband may be used, no old stock or microchips from other organizations. The microchips do not tolerate heat exposure; please do not place them on the heater or in the sun!
